New SSN ??

Hello Friends,

My Immigrant visa was approved in Chennai. I already have a SSN, upon entering US, do I have to apply for a new SSN ?

SS# remains the same all your life even if u become citizen.
However, now u can get a new SS card without any notation "VALID FOR WORK WITH INS AUTHORIZATION "removed. For that you have to go to SS office and apply showing proof of IMMIGRANT visa.Simple as that.
