New SSN number not recognized

Hi everyone. I received my SSN card on tuesday this week. Problem is, everytime I try to use it for say, open an account, the system says that number does not exist. What could be the problem? What should I do to activate my SSN?

MANY posts on here about this issue. Wait until two weeks after you get it for all the systems to start seeing it as valid.
