New SSN Card after Passport Stamping?

I saw couple of people posting information on applying for new SSN card after passport stamping.

My question is

1) Do we need new SSN card as we already have one?
2) How it is different from the one we currently have?

doesn\'t your old one say "valid for work only with INS authorization"

i guess the new one won\'t say that..
