New SS Card?? Can i Apply??

Hi Friends,
Just had a quick question. Since I am a green-card holder now can I get a new social security card? or do I have to wait till I am a USC? Why do I need a new social card? Well the one I have right now says “ VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH INS AUTHORIZATION” Now of course I know that the new card will have the same numbers but at least it won’t have that stuff written on it now would it? As always thanks so much for your info and suggestions/opinion friends.

Yes. If you show up to the SSA office with your GC, they will issue a new SS card without the employment restriction.

Well I applied first in Chicago and then I moved to Philly so it took forever. Anyway here is my timeline
07/25/02 Applied for AOS in Chicago
05/12/04 1st AOS interview in Chicago
08/03/05 2nd AOS interview in Philly (Got my Green card stamp in Passport)
08/30/05 Received my Green card in mail
