new rule asking birth certificate????????

hello

the new rule by vfs asking original birth certificate of child for visitors visa......, how can parents have the original it will be with us in usa and we need it for diffenrnt puruposes and not safe to send original by mail............, so is it ok to send a notraised copy of it or only original is required...., kindly advice...........
