new PERM filing

My labor was filed in February 2002 and currently in TR queue(EB3) at Philly BEC. My attorney suggested to file a a new labor using PERM process as an EB2 which would give me a new priority date. I am already in my 9th year of H1. Can someone tell me if this is a good idea. I am not sure how adversely it would impact my GC process if I file a new EB2 application and lose my 2002 (EB3) priority date. Any input is appreciated.

I applied in March 2005 under RIR IN EB2 category.Now want to Apply in PERM.Will I retain my old priority date.I'm approaching my 6th year.Can RIR and PERM be processed simultaneously.
