Hi All, I am planning to apply for revalidation of my H1b visa in US. I just got a new passport (since my old one was due to expire by July 04) and according to the revalidation clauses you have to submit passports which are not expiring in <6months. Now the question is
1. When sending the documents for stamping do I also enclose my OLD Passport along with the new one?

TIA

Yes ,
you would have to send both passports.
Once the H-1 is stamped and the passports returned to you, You can then travel with the current passport. I personally carry my old passport with me anyways. Your new passport will have a stamp in it saying "Previously Travelled on <your old passport number>"

Yes, You have to send both passports for stampping and also you have to keep both passports while on travel to any where.

related question

I have a related question. I am planning to send my passport for revalidation but it is going to expire around mid 2005. While this is enough time for the revalidation requirement as of now; when I get the new passport, does anyone know if I will need to restamp the visa in the new passport also?

If you are sending your old passport for stampping (revalidation) you can do it now. After getting new Passport, you don't required any stamp in the new passport. While in travel you have to carry both passports and when the INS officer asks you have to show the visa in the old passport and say after new visa stamping my passport expired and got the new one.

He will stamp the new entry or exit in the new passport.

Thats All,
