New Passport Application Form

The form asks for "Alien Registration Number".
Is this the A# from the green card?
During my naturalization ceremony, INS took away my green card.
So am I still required to enter the A number in this form?

Thanks a lot.

If the form is asking for it, then obviously you have to enter it. What is so unclear about it? It is the A number from the green card. You can find it on your receipt notice of N400, Fingerprint notice, Interview notice and also the oath letter. If you have any of those then you could pick it up from there.

Your A number is listed as INS number on your naturalization certificate.

the form asks for the A# IF IT IS APPLICABLE for the applicant.

Whatever the form asks, it does not mean you have to fill them if it is not applicable to the subject.

Ok guys. Now I am confused. Some of you have entered the A number and some have not.
What is needed by the law?

I have not seen the application myself yet. From the original post, I could not tell if the form asked for A number IF ONLY IT IS APPLICABLE. That is why I was wondering what is so cryptic about this question. So, is A# no longer relevant once you become a citizen and so it is not applicable anymore? I see there are instances where folks have ignored it and still got their passports. I wonder if there is going to be any problem with such a passport when you enter the US and the Immigration guy at the POE is not able to connect you to your past GC info due to lack of A#. Just a thought...

if it is not so big deal to type in few numbers of your A#, you enter it and call the day off!

don't be confused by little things. if you feel like you want to enter it, go for it.

Good thinking. I will be traveling to oversea and i will see if it has a tie on the lacking of A# on my passport application form.
