Hi Folks,

Does anybody have their cashier checks encashed by St. Louis with the new NVC process effective dtd 10.01.02. I have my checks sent (alongwith the fee bill) to St. Louis on 10.30.02, but are not encashed yet.

Do we have anybody who passed thru this phase or is passing thru this phase of CP. Please post how long did it take for you, an exact date would be really appreciated.

Cheers !

hate_tsc,

I have answered your question on another thread. I repeat here.

New Consular Processing Steps:
Step1: NVC in Portsmouth Receives Notice of I-140 Approval
Step2: NVC in Portsmouth issues a fee bill to the lawyer
Step3: Fee Bill is paid to the NVC in St. Louis
Step4: NVC in St. Louis sends notice of payment to NVC in Portsmouth
Step5: NVC in Portsmouth issues Packet III to the lawyer
Step6: The lawyer files Packet III with NVC in Portsmouth
Step7: Portsmouth reviews forms and forwards file to Consulate
Step8: Consulate schedules the interview

My case info updated on Nov 26, 2002 4:34 EST:
Step1 completed on Oct. 30, 2002
Step2 completed on Nov. 11, 2002

Thanks.

To cpdelhi,

Are you sure about the dates you are posting? I saw you post some different dates in a different thread (where you were not sure if you received the fee bill or the Packet-3).

If your 140 was received on Oct 30, I find it amazing that your fee bill was issued on Nov 1 (though it is not impossible).

Even more amazing, if your fee bill was paid on Nov 11, how could St. Louis send notification that payment was received just one day later? And how did you get to know that this was sent to NVC by St. Louis?

To be frank, none of these dates looks accurate. Are they your estimates?

Miscommunication between lawyer and HR

Aishwarya,

The dates posted above are not accurate and resulted due to miscommunication between layers of red tape in my company. I have updated them just now to avoid confusion for other individuals.

Since I have to go through HR to get answers from my Lawyer there is always a chance of possible miscommunication. And this is exactly what happened.

My Lawyer paralegal told that the law firm received the request to pay the fees for Packet 3. My HR rep took it as that the law firm received the Packet 3 for my case. Hence the confusion.

My company HR policices don't allow us to have direct communication with the law firm. I will be more diligent in future while posting stuff/info on the web.

Thanks.
