After so many years of hard working and painful waiting, we have finally
reached a new significant milestone in our immigration journey. Even though
both men in our house are too tired of the almost endless waiting to show
any excitement, I still can truly feel the happiness and would like to share it
with our big family in this forum, the good news of our I-485 approval.

Here is a list of our milestones:

to ImmigrationPortal.ORG.
By 2008 -- Get citizenship for the family!

In real life, both my husband and myself have big families, from where we always get so much love and support. We feel so lucky that besides that we have an even bigger family here in this forum, which has been the source of information, care and support in an even wider range of aspects for the past couple of years, and in the future. On behalf of my real life family, I thank you all from the very bottom of my heart!

Our special thanks to Kashmir for his selfishless contributions to this community and his help with our individual cases. We thank congresswoman Ana Eshoo and her office for their efforts. All my comrades in bayarea485 group, along with all the other active members in this forum, deserve our truest respect for their leadership, devotion and support!!

Congratulatoins !!

You had been actively working for the community not just to participate in campaigns
but also to drive one of the most successful campaign #8b to CIS Ombudsman which, I strongly believe, contributed I-485 backlog reduction at the CSC, to visit Zoe Lofgren's office with us, to attend Pete Stark's town meeting, and so on.
It's really deserving !!

Enjoy your freedom,
-kashmir

P.S.
I started taking classes from this summer to get another degree here in the States.
Originally, I planed to get some kind of prize as a U.S. citizen,
but reading your post, I have changed my mind to get a degree and a prize before a citizenship.

Wise decision! As a matter of fact, the older I get, the more I am thrilled by old people's wisdom. Don't forget to share it with us when you get your degree and prize, and your citizenship of course!

Passport stamped on July 23rd

We left home at 7:10am, arrived CIS San Jose office at 7:40am. Parking was full by then. Dropped passengers, parked car across road and walked back to the line. Entered the building at 9:51am and got token. Called by an officer at around 12:15 noon. Walked out of building by 12:30.

Highlights:
- eat before leaving for CIS;
- a jacket is necessary if get there early;
- camera, either stand alone or integrated to cell phone, should be kept in the car;
- the "military guy" (what our boy calls the gentleman handled our case) is at least 3 times faster than the asian girl in doing the stamping.
