New member: H1 or EAD?

Hi All:
I am new to this forum and have a question.

I have a valid H1 visa until Oct 2004 and got my EAD yesterday from CSC. My company left it to me to choose between H1 or EAD. Our company hired lawyer recommended to use EAD as proof of employment (for I9) rather than H1 in order to save up time on H1 so that, should there be any problem on I485, she said the remaining time on H1 could be used.

What are the pros and cons of choosing one over the other?

Would appreciate your comments or experience on this topic!
Thanks a lot

My case details:

Pros:
You can get biwi here on h4
You don't need to worry about EAD expiring (H1 expires in 3 years blah blah)

Cons:
Can't think of any :)

Go on H1.

If you don't plan on changing your job, stick to H1. No hassle, no fuss, no need to run around for iEAD when EAD expires.

EAD is useful only when you want to change jobs, and don't want to go through H1 transfer, extra expense, hassle, etc.

Plus, as SillyMan pointed out, you can bring your wife over on H4 if she is not here already! Besides if you have problems with 485, it is time to go back in any case, so what difference a year or two will make?

No question stick on to H1.

Good luck!
