Few people had mentioned that they LUD changes around 7/18, 7/19. Did anyone have LUD changes since then or even approvals. thx

Nothing since then

My last LUDs were on 7/18 & 7/19..no change since then. Am moving to extend EA. Might see some change then.

no new LUDs+ troubled by the fact that FBI name checks expire

My last LUDs were at the end of the June which I correctly predicted were successful receipt of FBI information (since confirmed by my calling Texas via POJs method and by the lawyer directly calling Texas to confirm that fact). However one troubling fact that my lawyer brought to light was that all name check and security clearances are valid only for six months, in other words if retrogression continues for a few more months, even if you are cleared once, your info may be sent back to FBI!

struck in name check+retro

We are struck in FBI name check..I received a response from USCIS upon my status enquiry request. According to my attorney, there are 280 K people waiting and security checks are valid for 1 year. He suggested me not to do anything to expedite name check right now as it is too early. He was predicting that it might take about 2 years before the dates move to my PD (Oct2004). May be he is right..!
Good luck to all!

It is really depressing to learn that the "security check" process that takes almost 1-2 years for some individuals, actually expires in a year. I would hope that in cases where the original security check expires, the second round would be quicker because the respective agencies will have the previous records. Maybe this makes to much sense but it would be crazy to think that the security checks will take another 1-2 years in the second round. That is just ridiculous.

For one I really hope that the security checks expire after one year as told my Toxscis lawyer and not six months as per my lawyer. second I fully agree that this is another ridiculous situation. However when I posed the same query to my lawyer (second time checks should be done muck quicker), he said he wasnt usre if that was really the case.

Honestly ...

nikkasingh,

I would not trust lawyers completely. From experience I have found that most of them have no clue about "security checks" and length of validity. Some lawyers are to optimistic and believe in saying things that their clients like to hear while others like to spread dooms day scenarios in order to cover themselves in case of long delays.

My company lawyer has been responsible for screwing me over by not initiating inquiries into my case before retrogression. Infact she discouraged me from approaching my area Congressman stating that I should be "patient" and that my case will get adjucated in due time. That I should not push for information. I was a fool back then and listened to her. Now I am stuck in retrogression and my lawyer has nothing to say. Some good patience did me.
The retrogression is not her fault but not acting on time and giving me wrong advice defenitely is. My point is that lawyers cannot be trusted completely.

I am of the opinion that as much as we like to depend on our lawyers for information and guidance, this is ultimately our own battle and no one other than us is interested in the outcome. All advice and guidance should be taken and acted upon with this in mind.

LUD changes

I did have LUD changes right around the same dates you mentioned. Mine were on 7/12 and 7/16
Then me and my husband had LUD on 9/19.

I remember calling TSC around April since our case was so static (no LUDs at all for a long time) the lady told me that LUD's were made every two months.
But you know how misleading customer service at USCIS is, so many different answers for the same questions.

Let's wait for some activity on this month.

Best regards.
