I am a UK citizen working for a Uk owned company in BC Canada and I am near the end of my work permitt. The company wants to open a new office in the US and have me move to the US to start the operation. Does the company have to be operational before I apply for the L1 or can I go there to set the company up?
Also I have seen the L1 is only issued for 1 year if the company is new, is this extendable and how do they determine how many years to extend it by?
