Hi Mahyuni, good to see you joined the forum and you are from Kenya. Are you also on the Kenyan thread cause I have not seen a post from you there or probably you posted on the day that I did not visit the forum. Anyway, am also heading to New Jersey. Have you done your interview already? Mine is in April.

I'm landing at JFK on a Sunday, out of the airport, taking over the driver's seat and hitting the Van Wyck Expressway and around Belt Parkway through New Jersey, hitting 78W, having my usual coffee and break at Dunkin Donuts near Philipsburg and then all the way through to Pennsylvania.
I drive once or twice a month in Africa because I hate traffic here and worrying about parking and someone looking out for the car but in America I LOVE driving long distances wherever I'm going because cars actually MOVE there.

Ash would you be so kind to shed some light on the following for me (and for others too):
- Police certificate - when should we get this done?
- Medical - is this once we know of our 2nd NL?
- Bank Statements - will 6 months suffice?
- Self-Employed Persons - can we take an affidavit of support from the company? This is specific to my case as I am a director of two industries/companies.
Any other information that is relevant?

Its better to process the police cert after getting
the 2nd NL unless you are getting from many
Countries. I did mine twice coz it expired after
6 months.
For medicals, you send an email and schedule
the appointment yourself but after getting your
2nd NL. Scan your passport biometrics page and
Send together with the 2nd NL. You also have to
Send passport info for your spouse and kids.
You propose the date you want and they will advice
accordingly.
Those with kids should schedule medicals for mon,
Tue or fridays only because those are the days for
doing tb tests on kids.
Try to do most of the vaccinations before you go coz
you save lots of money.
