My wife has US visitors visa good for couple more years, but as you know one could stay in US for only 6 months. We will be landing in Quebec and would need to come back to US to move the stuff to Canada.

Well, her 6 months I-94 is about to be up and by the time we land and settle it would become invalid. So could somebody verify that once we drive back to US would they give her new I-94 at POE? may be even good for another 6 months, may be?
 
I believe you can hand in you I-94 and get a new one at POE, but how long is all up to the guy at the Custom. My wife had some similar experiences but through Mexico. Please post a follow up and let us know what you find out.
 
As long as your wife has a valid visitor's visa she will be given a new I-94 at POE valid for 6 months or less.
