New I-94 on visiting Mexico/Canada

This was discussed and answered before, but I am asking again because USCIS practices keep changing. I will really appreciate feedback and recent experiences.

I have read threads and see that veterans like Ginnu and others are really helpful.

My Dad has currently valid 10 year multiple entry visitor visa. His I-94 is currently valid.

If he travels to Mexico and returns, will he be reissued a new I-94 for 6 months?

Thanks in advance.

The possibility of issuing the new I-94 for six months is slim. In fact, they might become suspicious of his intentions to stay longer and hence this could create problems. If he intends to visit Mexico, he should use the AVR.
