Hi ,
I had paid SEVIS Fee for some other I-20 that I got last year (2006).
But my F1 Student visa was rejected last time.
Now I got a new I-20 this year (2007) the SEVIS fee is still valid ( SEVIS fee is valid for 12 months starting the first F1 visa interview).
Do I need to transfer the SEVIS fee before the student visa interview and go the F1 visa interview with new I-797?
While submitting the documents for the visa interview VFS said that I can use the old SEVIS receipt (I-797).
If the visa is granted, do I have to transfer the SEVIS fee to the new university for which I got visa before leaving to USA? I know I have to transfer the SEVIS fee to the new University anyway. But my question is :
Is the new I-797 required at the port of entry?
Has anybody in the forum been in this situation before.
