My H1B just got approved and I want to travel outside the US for vacation.
My previous status was F1, which is now expired. Is it okay if I go to Canada (Toronto) Consulate and get my passport stamped? How long will it take to get my passport stamp if I make an appointment with the Consulate? Are they giving any trouble? Dealys?

Help is appreciated!

Its always safer to get the stamping done in your "home" country.

If Canada is not your home country, you are taking a risk ... if you have complications getting a visa, you can't re-enter the US ... you need to go back to your home country and get the stamping.

The risk depends on your case ... nature of the occupation (whether its in TAL) and your employer, etc etc
