New H1B and H4 extension

Hi all,

I have been residing in US with a H4 visa since March 2006. I have now found an employer to sponsor my H1. I intend to file for my new H1 through my employer on April 1st 2007. My husband is currently in his 6th year of H1B, with labour approved and I-485 approval pending. His H1 and my H4 are valid till June 2007.

1. We will be filing for our 1 year visa extensions around april 2007. My question is whether i can file both a new H1B and a H4 extension for myself with the USCIS simultaneously. Are there any possibilities of my new H1 getting revoked?

2. Also, will the current June 2007 validity of my H4 pose a problem for my filing a change of status from H4 to H1 ?

Not sure about how to maintain 2 different H visa status simultaneously. Just curious, why can't you work on EAD for the new job?
