New H1B and expired OPT

Could someone please advice me, here's my situation:

I'm on a F-1 (optional practical training) and am working for a firm which has filed for my premium H-1B. Now, my OPT has expired and my H-1B has not been yet filed - LCA approval has come through.

What is my status and can I keep working without getting my salary until my H-1 gets approved??

New H-1B and expired OPT

You are out of status if your OPT has expired before your H-1B petition has been filed with BCIS. This means that you are not eligible to work, and cannot change status from F-1 to H-1 in the US.
