Hello,
It appears that there are two type of fees structure for getting the US citizenship:
1. Lucky candidates : The published fees ($330 and $70), whose background check is cleared within so called "48 hours".
2. Semi-lucky candidates: Why semi-lucky? Because USCIS have broken their rules and they conduced the interviews before the background check is completed. For them, the fees are :
$330 + $70 -Same for the lucky candidates + $...... for suing USIC after 120 days.
(This is a fast track, because until we file to case, they do NOT even bother to do anything. However, once we file the case and after the notice is served to USCIS, they will make every possible attempt to call you at your HOME "humbly requesting you" to withdraw the case and they will immediately invite you to the oath ceremony. )
What a procedure..... Something needs to be done to these agencies. What frastruate me is, nobody is interested to let us know what is the progress of the background check (at what stage is it, how much time will take etc. etc).....
3. I can't even think of the people who are stuck in 3rd category (they are not even called for the interview....)
