New Citizenship Test to be Revealed on Nov. 29

When will it start?

I have the interview(El Monte, CA) on DEC 14th, 2006. Is there any possibility, I might have to face the new interview?

Probably not because they have not given you adequate notice.

I think after Nov 29, if the new test is approved, then they will probably advertize it on the USCIS Website, have a notice of the new test with the receipts that USCIS sends, at the fingerprint session etc.

So I would suspect that the only people who need to worry about it are, at the earliest, those who are fingerprinted after the new test is approved. More liekly it will be those whose applications are received after the new test is approved.

There is another news story about the new test at:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061113/ap_on_re_us/citizenship_test

According to this story, the new citizenship test will be offered as a pilot program in 10 cities during 2007.
If the pilot program is satisfactory, they will start administering the test thoughout the entire country in 2008.
The 10 pilot program cities listed in the article are:

Albany, N.Y.; Boston; Charleston, S.C.; Denver; El Paso, Texas; Kansas City, Mo.; Miami; San Antonio; Tucson, Ariz.; and Yakima, Wash.
