Nervous about travelling on I-551

Hi,

I have got the I-551 Stamp in my passport, I haven't received the phyiscal green card yet. I am going to Pakistan next week for one month.

I am kind of nervous about re-entering on I-551 Stamp. Has anyone re-entered the country on I-551 Stamp???

Yes, I have. But a word of caution, photocopy your temporary stamp as some immigration ppl in Pakistan may tear that page out of your passport for some unknown reason. Keep the photocopy in a safe place on you and not with the passport.

My wife just came back from a short visit to her parents. In Amsterdam, they asked her some questions about this stamp and she said it didn't seem they knew about this stamp a whole lot!!! which is surprising. But at the end, she didn't have any problems coming back.

I don't want to scare you; this is my wife's experience. So all I can say is that this stamp is certainly valid and you should be able to come back safely.
