I am engineer with 50 years old and 25 years experience international business( sales ) ,working now but in bad situation country, I am looking for answers for below questions:

1- Did the applicant winner and family members should arrive US togather?

2- what’s the expenses should the winner cover in addition of visa and plan tickets?
3- what’s the benefits of having GC?

4- After GC recieved could the family travel for home country and what’s the allowed time to be back with out losing the residence.

5- what’s the range of income to the family to have normal life in USA ( no owned residence )?

Start by reading this:

Another good resource is any organized immigrant group or religious organization assisting immigrants from your home country. Since you did not specify your home country or location where you would like to settle, it is hard to provide any links.

I'll answer some other questions in another post.

Dear Friends,

18 and 20 YEAR OLDS WOULD LIKELY NEED TO WORK TO PROVIDE THEIR OWN SUPPORT; NORMALLY, CHILDREN OVER THAT AGE ARE CONSIDERED TO BE INDEPENDENT ADULTS AND WOULD BE EXPECTED TO CONTRIBUTE TO OWN EXPENSES. IN MY OPINION, THEY WOULD BENEFIT THE MOST FROM YOUR RELOCATION AT THIS TIME.

I am engineer with 50 years old and 25 years experience international business( sales ) ,working now but in bad situation country, I am looking for answers for below questions: UNFORTUNATELY, YOUR AGE IS WORKING AGAINST YOU FOR JOBS ALTHOUGH YOUR EXPERIENCE IN INTERNATIONAL SALES IS A PLUS. DO YOU HAVE ANY US CONTACTS WHO CAN ASSIST WITH YOUR JOB SEARCH? WHAT DOES YOUR WIFE DO? REALISTICALLY, SHE SHOULD EXPECT TO WORK AS WELL. YOU MUST WORK FOR 10 YEARS TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR SOCIAL SECURITY RETIREMENT, DISABILITY AND MEDICARE BENEFITS.

1- Did the applicant winner and family members should arrive US togather? THERE IS A WINDOW; IF ONE NEEDS TO RETURN TO FINISH A YEAR AT SCHOOL, ONE NEEDS TO OBTAIN GC - OR PASSPORT STAMPING - AND REENTRY PERMIT (SEE DOCUMENT).

2- what’s the expenses should the winner cover in addition of visa and plan tickets? ALL, AT LEAST FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. ELIGIBILITY FOR GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS ARE HANDLED BY EACH STATE; THERE IS AN EVALUATION THAT MUST BE CONDUCTED AND TEHRE ARE WAITING PERIODS FOR GEVERNMENT SUBSIDIZED HOUSING. THERE MAY BE SOME NONGOVERNMENTAL RESOURCES AVAILABLE.

3- what’s the benefits of having GC? LIVE IN US; EVENTUAL US CITIZENSHIP.

4- After GC recieved could the family travel for home country and what’s the allowed time to be back with out losing the residence. ABSENCES SHOULD BE LESS THAN THAN 6 MONTHS; MORE THAN 1 YEAR REQUIRES A REENTRY PERMIT; THIS IS DISCUSSED IN GC DOCUMENTS. THE AMOUNT OF TIME OUTSIDE THE COUNTRY AFFECT EVENTUAL CITIZENSHIP.

5- what’s the range of income to the family to have normal life in USA ( no owned residence )? DEPENDS ON LOCATION; ON COASTS MUCH MORE THAN IN CENTER OF COUNTRY. LARGE CITY MUCH MORE THAN SMALLER CITY OR TOWN.

6- what’s the estimated money should have while arriving USA until have ajob? DEPENDS.

7- what’s the fields which US government will help such as health insurance ,education fees ,find job, etc. EDUCATION FOR LESS THAN 12th GRADE IS FREE. COLLEGE AGE STUDENTS QUALIFY FOR FINANCIAL AID AND LOANS. FOR LOW INCOME THAT INCLUDES GRANTS THAT DO NOT NEED TO BE REPAID. ALL POTENTIAL WORKERS COULD USE GOVERNMENT SPONSORED JOB PLACEMENT SERVICES BUT WOULD NOT RECEIVE ANY JOB PREFERENCES. EMERGENCY HEALTH CARE IS AVAILABLE TO GC HOLDERS. MOST HEALTH INSURANCE IS THROUGH EMPLOYER. ONLY A LIMITED NUMBER OF PEOPLE - LIKE YOUR 6 YEAR OLD - WOULD QUALIFY FOR SUBSIDIZED HEALTH INSURANCE.

Thanks alot for your help in advance

Thanks again

I have seen a good website/document about DV immigration; I will look for it and post it back if I find it.

My husband is presently in Nigeria, won DV 2009, scheduled for interview in August 5, 2009. But we're expecting our second child by August 21, 2009. The wife and 2 yrs old daughter are presently in South Africa. Can only my husband go for the interview, hoping to join him after 5 yrs. Thanks
