Needing to work - still waiting on I-765 approval

My husband is still waiting to get his EAD approved. They received it on 6/5/07, did his fingerprints 7/5/07. He has a ssn card and a drivers license. is he legally able to work? we are tight w/ money and it would be great to have him work now instead of just waiting and waiting for who know show long. thanks for any help.
 
Hi,

First , I will have ur husband call INS and find out was going on with the approval.
Second, ur huband can start looking for a job now. and if them ask him about the restrication on his SS card, can just tell them that he is waiiting for is renew EAD. He can also show them the letter from the INS, that indicated that they are processing it. Hope this help u. (good Luck)
