Hi All

I need some urgent information. I had filed my I-140 (or immigrant Visa application) through my previous employer and since then I have left that company and now work at another company.

Now what is happening is that the new company is requesting for certain details like case #, decision date and decision outcome from the previous I-140 application to file my new I-140 application.

Coming to my question what relevance does the previous application have on the present application and has anyone faced such situation.

Since there are two issues that I have here 1) is there a real need to get this information (or my company/lawyer is just using a delay tactic) and second 2) my previous employer closed doors even the lawyer that was representing me I am not able to get any response from him hence not sure how to get this information and for last 2 months I am just waiting mode to file my I-140.

Any info will be appreciated.
Thanks

In may opinion you dont need to get your previous I-140 information to file new I-140 with a different company. Its ok to have two I-140s processing.

So, this is a delay tactic by your current employer as you guessed or they dont know about this stuff.

May be you can ask this question murthy.com chat and get the copy of the answer and refer that to your lawyer to support your claim.
