I am B1 holder and visit US customers very often. I have a USC GF who I have been knowing for years but until my this trip, we decided to get married and settle down because we both think it is time to welcome a new page of life.
Then naturally we encounter the AOS puzzles:
1, At least how many months I should stay in US under B1 before I and my GF file marriage? From former posts, it seems 2 months pre-stay is a minimum, is it correct? I consulted a lawyer this morning, and was told at better 5~6months. Anyone has similar experiences?
2, Do we have to hire a lawyer to handle all the documents and ask for advices? does anyone done this by DIY?
3, I do not have any intent to get married while I entered US, since I needed to finish my sales calls. Does it help to convince the interview officer that my US visit doesn't relate to marriage at all if I present my sales travel records?
I am almost burned out by above questions, please help!
