Guys,

After 3 years they have transfered both our cases to local office at Omaha NE. Site update does not say anything about interview. When to expect any Interview? Also I did change my job after 8 months. I also have a new lawyer from the new company. which are not not notified to BCIS. I need urgent advice as what to do on job & lawer change.

Thanks in advance.

Guys,

Any thought or experience of how to notify the job and lawyer change at the time of interview? Should I send those information before interview or enough to notify at the time of interview.

Thanks,
Nebraskan.

Visit your local office and they will give you the details. Lawyer change is not a big deal! To me, a lawyer is a helper who organizes your documents and put them together. Bring documents to your local office and tell them about the lawyer change and job change and see what they say.

Good luck Nebraskan. Just make sure you take your attorney for the interview.

Thanks for the reply Guys! My Lawyer is located in NewYork and I am at Omaha. Is it really required to take the Lawyer with me? Also Do you think I have to do submit job/lawyer change documents before the Interview date? I highly appreciate your reply Guys.

Thanks,
Nebrakan.

I don't think it is required to take your lawyer with you. But lawyer can scare Immigration officers because they thought he knows laws. Prepare yourself mentally and physically and you will be fine without your lawyer present. If your interview date is several months away from now, mail them your job and lawyer change documents first. But mail to where? your local office or NSC?

They have given me the Local Office Address. I guess I have to send the info to the Local office. Does anybody have any experience sending info to the Local office directly.

Thanks.

When did you change your job?

Hey Nebraskan,

I was wondering when did you change your job. I think we may have the same case. Eventhough I left my other job (who sponsored my GC...I got laid off), they have decided to continue my application. I have also kept my lawyer until now. They have transferred my case to the local office here in Philadelphia (from Nebraska Service Center). I've received my interview notice and expected to appear next month. The only thing I am worried about is the change of Job. First, I moved to another job, they filed for an H1B transfer. After staying in that job for almost 2 years, I got my EAD card. Then I got laid off again and now I am working for another company until now (but didn't apply for H1 transfer since I got my EAD Card).

I think it would be best if you send an updated info to INS about your new attorney. Your lawyer should know that.

I wonder if there's anyone out there who has this type of case and if they had to bring 2 separate employment letter, one coming from the original company that sponsored them, two from the current employer stating job description and all that. And what is the impact of having two letters compared to having 1.

About the interview date, check the Omaha local processing date. If the date is past your receipt date in your I485, you can call INS and file for an inquiry (that's what I did). If after 30 days, you haven't received any reply from the local office, call INS again and file another one (I filed 2 inquiries before I got my interview notice).

Hope this helps.
