need urgent advice

Hello friends,

My friend who is in india with I-551 stamped in her passport is not able to make it to US by before the expiry date of the stamp.

1) Can she come to US with an expired I-551 stamp?
2) What paper work will her spouse need if he wants to get her to US after her I-551 becomes invalid?
3) What will be her status if she cannot make it to US before the I-551 expires?
4) Can she apply for re-entry permit after she comes to US with her expired I-551?

Please advice...........

wow...thats a new one.
I guess you'll have to go thru the US embassy. Better check with some immigration attorneys.
 
She will need to get a returning residents visa. To obtain it she needs to prove that the stay outside US got extended for reasons unforseen and beyond her control.

IF she stays abroad for over 1 year, GC expires automatically (temp stamp or actual card) unless Reentry premit OR Returning resident visa is obtained.

thats a good question. What happened to her actual plastic card after stamping..????? never recvd it..??? :eek:
