Need Transit Visa info to UK

Hi

I do have GC passport stampping and Planning to visit India via LONDON through Emirates. Do i need to take Transit visa while on Trsnsit to UK? Did checked with UK consulate, automated answering mechine says excempt those how have valid US visa and Green card holders(orginal card). My question is passport stampping(GC stamp on passport) is enough for Transit?

From some other threads that I have followed, it looks like you will need a Transit Visa unless you dont have to get off the plane (like Air India). I suggest you get a Transit Visa.
