Need to travel to visit and see a family member very sick out of country...

Hey folks, I have been in this country since 1992 without leaving and I have finally got my Green Card from asylum on August/2005, and now my Mom is very ill and I would love to see her in my home country where I've been persecuted.
Does anyone knows if I do need ant authorization to leave US and anyone knows if I will have any kind of problem on my way back to US.
I just intend to stay about 1o days out there.
Please reply with yours knowledges.
Best reagrds to all.

my friend, it looks like we both have the same situation, i wrote to my senator and i explained to him the situation and i'm waiting for a reply.

i feel for you and my prayers go out to your mother.

I have got the Gren Card on august/2005. Do I need anything ( authorization or anything else) to go for an emergency travel to what is called my home country for 10 days?

If you have to..I think best thing to do is to write to your congressman ,senator..have you writting advice from a lawyer..and in one file collect all that with proof of your mother sickness.
I beileve best way to solve problem is to be honnest and direct.
let me said one more thing..most people do not realise the danger of going back to thier naitive country ..but remember if U.S.C.I.S.doesn't get you C.O.P.will.

What is C.O P.? One more thing I have a green card, do you think it can be taken away from me?
Thanks for your feedback.

COP: Country of persecution.

You just need passport and GC. Do you think you will have problems in your country if they find out you were an asylee in the US?

If not, go go go. Just remember to bring evidence with you. Good luck and hope your Mother get better. :)

Just go back and make sure you bring all the evidence in case you are asked in the future. I don't see you have any problems when you return. If you still feel persecuted in your home country, I would recommend not leting them know that you claimed asylum in the United States.

When you return, make a folder with copy of your return tickets, all hospital records of your family members sickness and copy of your passport and stamps in your passport.

You never really know what USCIS will ask you in 4 years when you apply for citizenship so its better to be prepared.

Thank you for the info,

Thank you Cl Asylee and Wantmygcnow,
I wish luck and I hope that you all can get your gc soon.

I am asking because I have asked to one attorney and he said that they could take it away. Can you beleive it, He must be a new attorney I guess!
and someone else to get a travel-document. Have you heard anything about it?

tks again,

"13 years " u must be kidding f..k the greencard go see your mother man. renew your passport and go if your mother is important for you than gc.she might recover when she sees you.
maximum i will wait for GC 1 more year if not i will get married and screw them and F..k USCIS's golden cage where your parents and relatives can't visit you.however we can understand from this laws mentality of this nation why they keep their parents in carehouses .some countries have a viza agreement between each other . so if your country has a "no visa agreement" with neighboring country .you can get visa for neighboring country to your travel doc and and u know what to do. noone will be able to prove that u were in your home.plus if u lose your renewed NP.during citizinship if they ask u if you renewed your NP.just say i lost it i have never done it.they cant prove it.eventhough they will get confirmation from embassy that will not be enough for judge to make a decision on your citizinship. cause u were persecuted by this country.u might say i renewed cause i had to go to another country where they dont except travel document and lost it on away.
so many criminals get their citizinship every year where prosecutors dont have enough evidence to put them in jail and deport. but be careful with your country's officials.if they find your refugee travel doc backhome .u might be injailed for betrayal of your country.(it worth to see mother whom u havent seen 13 years)

I trust you and I am sorry for your poor parents . :o backhome i had a neighbor she immigrated to US in 1988 she was the only daughter in a family.and Her old mother was lonely all that time unhappy and 1 day she got sick and died after surgery in 1999.I was mad at her that she didnt come even for her funeral .after i came to US i found out she was granted asylum in USA.
why would they grant derivative asylum status only for asylee's wife and children till 21 cause a**hole lawmakers know that Adolescence immigrants will not be able to work and pay taxes .these laws makes me think that America is all about money and cheap labor not a freedom.why would "freedom Country" care about immigrants age?
