If you have an EAD document, an employer can't make your immigration status a reason not to hire you. Many employers don't know this, but there are stiff fines levied against employers who don't accept EADs.

So, as long as it is certain that your husband will maintain his L1 status and you will have an EAD for the long run, you can apply for residencies. In the 'immigration status' box put 'immigrant' and 'employment authorization' (don't know how the electronic residency application system handles this these days).
