Hello All,

Ok. I shall take some time off you to explain my situation here.
My mother has filed for my immigration on a 2B catogory as on June 1994, its already been so many years and I constantly keep checking for the priority dates and its standing on July 8th 1993. So I dont have a clue how long its going to take and am staying single to keep up my status on 2B.
I am presently in the USA, completed my education and am in F 1 visa which is valid till june 2002. I heard that after June 2002, I can apply for adjustment of status based on my immigration petetion and stay in this country till I get my GC, once I heard about this option I had immedietly called up the INS office and cross cheacked the information and they told yes I can transfer my paper work from chennai to the USA and will have to give a permanent address within the USA, so as per the instructions I transfered all my paperwork to the USA.
But has anyone been in my situation and I need legal advice as its already Feb and and I want to know weather I can get this done and stay in this country and get my GC here..
So please help me.

some advice!!!

our goverment has had quite a hard time this year with all the september 11, attack and it just seems as if noone is replying to you but here i am replying you with what i think you should do.
1)Try to contact goverment.
2)Contact newspaper articles.
Try to do anything writting on a computer isn\'t that much of a help because, it can cause false imformation. But, i think if you contact a person who is aquanted with goverment they may be able to help alittle more than i can!!

Satyanarayanan - What you\'re suggesting should be possible.

You\'re going to need to discuss the possibilities in detail with the attorney handling your case.

visa appears to be available

As of the July 2002 visa bulletin, the 2B visas are not available unless priority date is on or before 1Nov93. Your priority date of July 8, 1993 would classify. As long as you are in valid immigration status and have no other immigration problems, you may submit I-485 packet with local INS office accompanied by a copy of the approval notice. They will acquire the visa petition from the US Embassy.

Or you may return home for Consular Processing.

You may need an immigration attorney if there are any immigration problems in your past.
