need some info on chennai counsulate location

hi,
I will be going to India and have a appt in aug.

I have never been to chennai, so need soe help from anyone who has been there. I know the address. please tell me
1. which part of chennai is it located.
2. any good hotels to stay nearby
3. how far is the railway station and airport from the counsulate

any info will be very helpful to me in planning my trip as it will be a very new place for us. Plus i will also be travelling there with my baby , so i want a really good hotel(not 5 star).

chennai consulate information

The US consulate is locate on anna salai. On the North anna sali ends up at the train station and to the south it leads to the airport. It takes about 30-45 minutes to get there from the airport/railway station depending on the traffic. There are lots of hotels around the embassy with in 5 minutes walking distance. The best option would be to arrive a day before in the morning and find a comfortable place.
