Ok, my lawer is nice but she never gave me a straight answer.

OK here is where I am:

Asylum approved on March 1999.
I485 filed on April 2000
I have an appointment for my FP next week.

How long does it take to the I485 to be approved after FP are taken? My lawer said that it may take 5 to 6 months if everything goes fine. True?

Also I'll be moving from California to Minneapolis on In a month and a half; is the change of address going to slow the process time even I do this change of address through a lawer?

Thank You!

i think someone here waited for like 8 months after taking FP
and i dont think changing address will slow the process unless they dont know your moving

its good to hear ppl who applied in 2000 got FP notice!!!

The problem is the FBI and CIA security checking. The process seems to take an amount of time that varies greatly. Nothing will get approved until the security checks are back from both agencies. This is even out of USCIS' hands.

It means they have started processing cases after Nov 16, 1999. Please post your timelines if some one got FP notice and applied after Nov 16, 1999. So far, it looks like they may again waste the 22,000 green cards ordered by the court.
