I entered the country legally in 2008 on a F-1 Student Visa and am still attending school here. I got married in mid 2009 with a US Citizen. I still haven't applied for a green card yet. I talked to a lawyer few months back and she said it would be best for me to wait for a few more months so that our marriage duration would be over 2yrs- by the time my interview would be scheduled so that i wouldn't have to get a 2-yr temp. GC. She told me that they would give me a 10yr Permanent GC instead.

MY QUESTION HERE IS:
Do i apply after my 2nd anniversary OR i could apply a little earlier, so that the interview is scheduled right after my 2nd anniversary?

If you married mid 2009 then you can apply now, it's gonna take at least 4-6 months for the I-130 to get approved and getting scheduled for the interview and by the time your 2 year marriage anniversary would be passed.

Although the usual time frame is more like 4-6 months, interviews can sometimes happen as fast as 2 months after you apply but I've never heard of any that were faster than that. So applying 2 months before your anniversary should be safe.
