A friend of mine is a GC holder her Mom is almost 70 and is canadian..My friends Dad passed away and Her MOm has no family left and no one to take care of her..Will it be hard for her to be able to get her Mom into the US..Her Mom has her own income and will always have that money coming in she just wants to be able to take care of her Mom since her MOm is not able to do this for herself anymore..Any advice?

As a GC holder its going to take years to get her a GC. If your friend is close to being able to become a US Citizen, if so then she would be able to get the mother a green card much faster, as they wouldn't have to wait for a priority date.

Friend of a friend...:)

How long has your friend being a greencard holder? If she is nearing applying for US citizenship, then her problems could be over in less than a year or so, depending on how fast the citizenship process is for her.:p

However, if she is still a long way to go before becoming a US citizen, then she might as well live in Canada and US, so that she can take care of her and maintain her continuous residency to be able to apply for US citizenship when the time comes. If she remains in the US, maybe she can move to Boise, ID because it seems as if people who apply for US citizenship there are approved within 4 months tops and GC applicants, between 2 months...;)

I will let her know this info she hasnt had her gc long at all I think maybe 6months (she got hers just before I got mine) I belive she has to wait 3 yrs for her citizenship correct?

If she is married to a USC, then she can apply for her citizenship 90 days before she has had her GC for 3 years. Note however any significant amount of time outside of the USA can be subtracted from the 3 years, so say she goes and spends 3 months with her mother in Canada, USCIS officially says that that time does not count as time to becoming a US Citizen.
