Hi everybody,
my PD became current in March(EB3/India/PD Mar 2000) through Nebraska service center. Still no approval or any response  . We gave the finger prints more than 2 years ago. According to the bulletin boards finger prints expires after a year or so. But NSC didn't ask us for redoing the FP's. Is anybody out there in the same boat? what do you think would have gone wrong? I am planning to contact senator regarding this issue. Can somebody provide me the sample letter to contact the senator regarding delay in the case Approval?
Any response is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Contact Senator

Hi Amber,

I would go to the senator's website, find out their contact number for 'Casework' and call them to find out if they have a specific form of letter that they want. Otherwise you can write a very generic letter listing out your application details like your SS#, 1485#, Date of Filing, Date when priority date became current. Also add a brief description of what help you need from the senator's office.

P.S. INS has been saying that it takes 90 days after priority date becoming current for them to process the app. If 90 days are done then you should contact INS directly first before approaching senator.

Amber ,
My senator has a a form to be filled out for immigration inquiry.
Check out your senators home page.

Hi Amber,

This is what I would do:

Go to www.senate.gov and from there find the URL to websites of both senators for one's state of residence.

Visit each site to locate something with heading "Casework Assistance" or "Federal Agency Assistance" or "Help with Federal Agencies". (This may be under "Constituent Services" in some cases). Follow directions from there. I would include a personalized letter as well - stating the problem (highlighting the plight or difficult time being had etc.) while keeping it to the point.

Usually the senators will require one's SSN as part of a signed form before they will even consider taking up an assitance case (Casework Privacy Statement/Privacy Act of 1974). Read all that carefully before deciding.

Then once the whole package is complete, send it over to the sentor's office as mentioned on the website and then try to follow up a few days later etc.

If the above was not readily available, I would call the senators office directly to find out more on how to get assistance with USCIS/Immigration cases. (For example, one of my state's sentaor's local office has a person designated specifically for immigration related cases)
