Hello i am a canadian that is applying for a consulting job. I was a student in the USA and graduated last may 2003. Now this job says i need an OPT. Can i still get one? The lady at my school says that i had to apply before i graduated. I never heard of the OPT til li got offered a job.

Any advice would be great.
The company does not sponser new employees
 
I don't think you can get an OPT.

The new rule asks you to apply for OPT before you graduate. The old rule would let you apply it till two months after you graduate. So I am afraid you are not eligible.

But I would recommend to talk to a lawer and check with him too. May be they can suggest you something.
