Hi,

While issuing a valid US passport for my minor child, the passport office gave the following letter.

==========================following is part of the letter sent along with my child's passport ==========
Since the xxxxx Passport Agency has documented you as a U.S. citizen under the
Child Citizenship Act of 2000 and has issued you a valid U.S. passport you must depart and enter
the U.S. as an American citizen.

====================================================================================

Please let us know if anyone got like this.

Thank you.

My concern is not that.
We can cross the border and come back.
Is this a common procedure.
But, did anyone got something like this?

It simply informs you that, as a U.S. citizen, you must use a U.S. passport (rather than a green card or a national passport of the country of your original nationality) when you exit and enter the U.S.

Ok. I understood now. Thank you very much for helping me to understand these lines. Now it makes sense.

You could face a problem later when you file n-600 for your child to get CC. If $600 is not a big issue, i would advise to file N-600 soon.
5-10year down the line USCIS may not have any data this "pilot program' and may ask you for GC!!!!.
