Hi Guys,

We r planning to enter Canada this coming weekend on Immigrant Status.I am on H1-B status in the US but without
a valid visa.I have the valid I-797 approvals.And i also have
Parloe Visa.My spouse has valid H4 and Parole Visa as well.
Is a valid visa required in the passport to re-enter the US ?

I would appreciate your help...

Thanks in Advance

canus_immi,
If you are a British Commonwealth Citizen, you do not require a visa to enter the US. I don't know as to where siddiqi101 is getting his information from? stating that you need a visa from Jan 01, 2003. There are talks/proposal to implement a new law which will require all BCC, who have Canadian Landed immigrant status to have a valid Visa stamp in the passport, before entering the US.

As of to-day, neither the US Consulate (Toronto) and DOS web site have updated any information about this requirement.

Good Luck!!

Vault,

Thanks for the information..
We are Indian citizens..So, would it be mandatory
for us to have valid visa on our passports to re-enter
the US ?
As mentioned earlier...we have Parole visas.

Could you please clarify

Thanks

Vault,
I have jsut called Detroit/ Windsor border and talk tot he Immigration officer and he told me again that for BCC VISA will be required after January 01, 2003.
Like i said before these a re guys that we will be facing after January 01, 2003, and if they said you need a visa then you better have one because they will not lwet you through without one.

This visa requirement topic is geting out of control. I don't care what the INS officer at the Windsor Tunnel said. I normally enter via Lewiston Bridge, and I have not heard anything from the officers working the Lewiston bridge. Moreover, I don't have any intentions of applying for a VISA, till I see some concrete evidence either on the DOS website or on the US Consulate Toronto/Ottawa/Vancouver web sites.

I will close this discussion with this reply.
