Hi All,
My wife's and my I-485 applications have been approved. RD-10/18/01, AD-11/06/02, EB2-NYC. I have posted a more elaborate post with more details in this forum( please search for username psmith to look at all details). I was outside the US when the approval happened and returned without incident y'day.

Now I have a couple of questions regarding passport stamping at the INS office in NYC.
1) Can anybody post their experiences regarding passport stamping at the INS office in NYC.

2) Can I go on any day to the federal Plaza in NYC to get the stamping done? The CC from the INS seems to indicate I need to go only on a Friday. Coming Friday happens to be the 6th which will make it exactly 30 days since our approvals, I do not want the stamping to be delayed because they need to do a new IBIS check. Can someone claify if I can go earlier. Thanks all for your support.

Please check this board

There is a lot of information on the board regarding stamping PP in NYC. From what I remember pretty uneventful.

Good luck!!!

SS Card change

Hi,
I have searched this forum to see if there are any recent NYC PP stamping experiences but there seem to be none in the recent past. I did see the post by Mr. Noorani, quite helpful thank you sir.
Can people who have had their passports stamped please clarify if we need to go to the 1st floor as the notice indicates or to the 3rd floor as Mr. Noorani's post indicate.

Also what is the procedure to have the "Authorised to work only with INS approval" removed from the SS card. Is it advisable to go to the 31st floor of the federal plaza and get whatever needs to be done, done there. What forms do I need to fill? Are they available on the internet. Thanks for any information that you provide.

Yes, it means any Friday so you should go this Friday. I got mine stamped at 26 federal plaza Sep end. Just take the docs written on the notice (the notice or curtesy copy, EAD, pics). Go to 3rd Floor, not 1st. Its a bit confusing who to go to when you first step into the room. When you walk in - go towards left and then make a left at the L-shaped counters. Give your notice to the lady right around the corner. I haven't got the SS# thing done yet - you can do it anytime later also.

Good luck
