Need info about sponsor I130/I485 for Greencard

Hello I am an American born citizen living abroad in Europe(ever since I know myself) and I´ve never worked in the USA, but I have social security.
I have recently married a European and we are planning to go to the USA so I am going to fill out a petition for him in order to go to the USA to live. Because I have never had income from the States I was told by the embassy that I have to find a sponsor for the I485 affidavit of support.
Since I have no family relatives in the USA and my parents have returned to Europe since I was a child how can I ask for a sponsor? Where can I get one? Do you think it is going to be easy or difficult to get a sponsor?
Is it possible for a non relative to become a sponsor? If so, can the sponsor be from a different State from the one you want to go to?
Being an American citizen myself do I have to get a prior job offer or a fixed residence or is the affidavit of support enough?
I am a little lost here can you please help me out?

Same situation, been there and done that. My wife was my sponsor who had never resided in the US. But, she had an Uncle, not related though (family friends) who did a joint affadavit for us. In fact, my brother-in-law needed a sponsor as well for his son, he knew the guy at the US Consulate abroad who filed the affadavit for him. Any permanent resident or US Citizen can do this, they do not have to be in the same state where you will decide to reside and even not in the same country as long as they are filing taxes in US.

Regarding your second question, do you have to get a prior job offer: If you have one and have recent W2's above the poverty line, you are ok, else, you will still need your same sponsor to helpyou out filing the most recent 864 then. Getting a sponsor, I don't know how easy or how tough is it going to be for you. Depends if you know any citizens or permanenet residents. good luck.
