Need info about relocation to Canada

I'm planning of applying for a LPResidency in canada. My question is:
I should be expecting graduation in the Spring 2003 from one of the University of California campuses, in S/W engineering, I do have a few other certifications as well under my belt, but the problem is I have (zero) no experience of what so ever in my field. I read that the minimum requirement is 6 months experience for both Quebec Imm., and the rest of Canada.
I don't want to stay long here in the USA, I would rather move to a more free country.
1) Any suggestions or advices to overcome the minimum experience requirements
2) Should I start my application process now or wait until that I'm done with my education?
Thanx a zillion!

Fake it.

Sorry, other than that you can work sometime in USA and then apply. But you dont want to be in US.

you have to have at least one years experience. What I would do if I were you is get some sort of an internship from a company in your related field for experience. That will help you....

You can read more about this on www.cic.gc.ca. There is some information on part time work also being counted towards experience.

But Mercury6 is right, not a good time for immigrants to be in US. Hard times are ahead.

You can apply now and get a letter from your University stating that you will be graduating in the Spring. And in the coming months, if they ask you for your diploma, you can send it then. But as I said, experience is something you will need..even 6 months at least.

Thanx guys, I see your point. As far as faking it, can I submit the work experience other than the one in my field of studies. I used to do translation work ( English <-> French <-> Hindu <-> Arabic ) and that was before I decided to go back and finish my undergrad and graduate studies in CS.
Would that experience in foreign languages translation count as experience, eventhough that has nothing to do with my field of higher education.
I do agree with you guys,
