Hi Sudhi

Go ahead and join Rapidigm if you want to. Confirm the Salary and all other stuffs. I work for Rapidigm and they are a very good company. Infact i am waiting for my GC approval through Rapidigm. Again, you are the best judge as to what is best for you. All the best.

Thanks FutureGen1 and Pat_Kar

Thanks guys for ur inputs...
I am in NJ, Rapidigm recruiter is from Boston and client is in CA, they say its 4-6 months project.
My greencard is for future employment. I-485 applied in Jan 02.

I hope my greencard will be approved by the end of this year. So if I can keep a job till that point I am OK. Once I get it... I really don not care :)

Any ways thanks for the info
Sudhi

FutureGen1 is right

Make your own decision. One thing that works for a person need not work for everybody. So its you who got to make the decision. In any consulting company you are not safe. As long as you have project you are safe otherwise not and that too when the economy is sliding down. So be your own judge and make the right move. Best of luck.

Hi Sudhi- ?How come long sufferer appears below your name?? Did you change that??

After suffering so long also I think you did n't learn a lesson and inquiring about Rapidigm. Good luck!!

Good & Bad

I am an employee of rapidigm since 4 years and I got their Greencard thru them. They have around 2000 consultants and 18 offices throughout USA. (In fact there are hundreds of rapidigm employees in this forum) Most of their clients are direct so they get Good rates. During IT boom period they treated their consultants really well.

Plus points :

(i) 18 marketing offices throughout USA so Good client base.
(ii) Comparatively better pay.
(iii) In-house immigration department, i.e Lawyer is employee of rapidigm. So they have Good experience in handling employment based cases.
(iv) Very good relocation policy. I changed 3 projects and everytime move expenses were totally paid. It is not that you pay first and they re-imburse later. They sent movers to my place and hotel& cars were booked in advance in my name thru company credit card. All the time they provided lease breakage costs also without any question

Minus points :

(i) At one point of times consultants were fully paid on bench for 8-9 months. But now-a-days except for people in certain skill set all others are mostly given termination notices immediately after the completion of project. They do not even care which stage your GC process is.
(ii) Your recruiter is the only person you interact. He is in charge of your placement your relocation, addressing problems etc .. If he is inefficient you will suffer.
(iii) There is no standard policy for everyone. It all depends on how much money they can make out of you. If you are in "hot skill set" you are treated well. If not you are booted out. No leniency.
(iv) For some reason they do i-140 for CP. But do not allow i-485 thru Consular processing . I n some cases it may delay your i-485.

I will summarize like this – if they can make money out of you , you’re treated well. Otherwise no consideration at all.

To Srika,

Hi Srika,
Yes I changed it to long sufferer, b'cos I suffered a lot b'cos of the the way my gc processing has gone through :(

No, I was not really into this consulting business. I hated it way back and decided not to go back. But at this point the priorities have changed. So accordingly the decisions also.

When you want to get something u have to loose something.

Any ways... thats long story cut short ;)

Thanks
Sudhi

Hi taurus02

Thansk for the info.
I really appreciate it :)

You are right, all the consulting companies are like this. You can make more with consulting, that means there is always a price you have to pay. In this case is job stability. You never know how long you have the job.

The same thing is true for even fulltime permanet positions (non-consulting jobs)

So I dont know whether the my skill sets are hot or not.
Thanks for the info

re

Sudhi,
As I said Rapidigm is one of the big body shops. You will hear only two types of opinions. (i) It is too Good (ii) It is too bad. In my experience they have provided everything mentioned in the contract. They honoured every word. Never had any problem with any re-imbursements.
This company is owned & run by Jewish people. They know business very well. Otherwise so many consultants would not be working for them. Isnt it ?

Yeah..

Yeah u r right.
Once you are on bench its the way most of the companies will behave, because they are not getting any money out of you, so why do they want to keep paying you.

Its like any other business. You dont want to do things in which u r not making any profit, right ?

If you really expecting recognition etc etc, then consulting is not the right place.
