Hi All,

I'd like to have some info from experts. I got my Citizenship in June 04. Now next year my company wants to send me to India for managing their office for atleast 3 years. What would be consequences of this on my Citizenship?
Is there any rule that I have to stay in this country or I loose my citizenship?
ALso do I need to have some real Estate here ? ( Since I was thinking of selling my house )
If I want to come back after 3 years, do I need to take care of things before I go? Do I need to file Taxes here ( interest incomes etc) , even though I will be getting salary there ( In India) and not here?

I'd appreciate replies from experts

Thanks

Yes, you have to file taxes and thats it!

You may want to apply for PIO card so that you can stay there beyond 6 months.(not sure what's happening to dual citizenship  )

also refer to publication 54 for IRS for tax rules for citizen living abroad. As Joef said, you need to file taxes and show your income.
http://www.irs.gov/publications/p54/index.html
Income upto 80000 $ are exempt from US taxes(as per 2003 requirement). However, you still need to file taxes though even if you are below 80000$ overseas.
