Need honest opinion

Hi All!
I am posting this questions on behalf of relative.
This person has "Mechanical Engineering" experience and working overseas, also holds h1 and Canadian PR, Since the job situation was worst last year he left US.
Now i am wondering is there any good opportunity in terms of jobs in US for mechanical engg? or shall he change field to Java or something and seek jobs in US?

mere mechanical engineering job experience will not get him ajob. ask him to learn seibel and come. he will get a job in few weeks.
