My parents have interview scheduled for 2nd week of march. They both have visited USA 6 times, last visit was in 2004 when due to my aunts terminal illness they overstayed their visit visa for 120 days as their extension was denied. My question is that over stay be a big deal during the interview as it was never beyond 180 days and we have all the proof of my aunt sickness, later on she died. I have also submitted a copy of her death certificate. The interview post is Islamabad.Any input will be helpful Thanks

Do they still have the proof of the date they left - like boarding passes? It is a backup in case the I-94s were not returned or properly recorded.

Even if they triggered the 3 year bar, their overstay was in 2004 so they are long past that and won't be denied at the consular interview because of it.
