Need Help!!!!

Hello,

I have completed my graduation last year and I am on my OPT, recently I have renewed it for 17 months, till date I didn't get any paid job formally.
Due to some issues, I would like to convert my status to H4. My question is if I convert my status can I still work on H4 status as my husband is on H1-B? Or should I continue being on OPT?
I am puzzled and unable to decide what should I do. Please advice me.

You have a limited time for unemployment on OPT. You should have reported all periods of employment - and unemployment - to the DSO at your university.

You may NOT work while on H4 status; once you leave OPT, it is gone forever.

You need to discuss your employment/unemployment with the DSO and make your decision based on that.
