Hello!

I am new to the forum and I have few questions regarding the process. Here is a description of my situation:

I am applying for a change of status for my spouse who is from Mexico and I am a U.S. citizen.

We are planning to send the following forms to the Chicago Lockbox this week: I-130, I-485, I-693, I-864

When is the approximate time where she can leave the U.S.A. while the applicaiton filing is in process? Can we go to Mexico in December while we are waiting? Please HELP!!

If she entered the US legally and she has never been out of status, she can leave the US for short trips when she applies for I-131 (AP) and it gets approved. The I-131 usually takes anywhere between 60-90 days to get approved and should be filed with the I-485 package.
